Granted, the resort has not seen significant snow in well over a month, however more can be done to maintain the trails on the upper mountain where there is snow. There was no groomed trails that went entirely down the mountain, many ended up in dirt patches (with rocks and branches strewn all over the trail from days-old windstorms). Areas where there was enough snow were not groomed in a few days. The reason was given that they needed the grooming machines for races and the snowboard park. Thats fine, but off the WIld West chair there did not seem to be one run groomed this morning. Even off the Belmont chair there was no way down the mountain without stopping and traversing 2-3 trails and catracks. The resort should spend more of an effort moving snow and ensuring at least a couple of continuous groomed trails off the upper mountain even during low snow conditions. And, yes, the snow report should be realistic- 5-35, not 35-35.
